General Role

Responsible for selling Design/Build remodeling projects that meet client needs and generate profit for the company. Priority is always given to providing the best possible client service.

Reports To: Sales Manager


Key Accountabilities

  • Reach sales targets - The initial sales target is established at the employee's one-year anniversary, then annually thereafter. (45%)
  • Customer satisfaction - Consistently achieve positive feedback on client surveys. (35%)
  • Lead generation - Contribute to generating new leads through networking and client referrals, tracked by lead source. (20%)

Specific Duties

Sales Duties - Up to Closing of Sale

  • Contact assigned leads within one business day and prequalify for fit (scope, budget, schedule).
  • Conduct discovery calls and in-house consultations to understand client needs.
  • Explain Woodland's Design/Build Remodel Process and unique value.
  • Verify scope of work and discuss realistic project budgets.
  • Obtain client authorization to move to the Design & Project Development (PD) Agreement.
  • Develop and deliver PD Agreements with support from internal staff.
  • Present PD Agreements to clients, collect payments, and notify the Designer.
  • If a prospect declines, close the lead in CRM.

Design Phase

  • Collaborate with the Designer and client throughout the design process.
  • Work with the Estimator to prepare Remodeling Agreements.
  • Present final Remodeling Agreement to client, secure signature, and collect payment.

Sales Duties - After Project is Sold

  • Product Selections: Ensure a smooth handoff to the person managing client selections.
  • Turnover Meeting: Schedule and lead the meeting where the project transitions to Operations.
  • Pre-Construction Meeting: Schedule and lead at the project site with the client and Project Manager.
  • Project Monitoring: Maintain contact with clients during construction and assist with resolving issues.
  • Project Presentation: Lead final presentation when the project is complete.
  • Project Debrief: Participate in post-project review meetings.

Customer Service

  • Call clients 30-40 days after final payment to confirm satisfaction and address any warranty issues.
  • Request referrals from satisfied clients.

Networking

  • Participate in at least one approved community or business organization to build relationships and generate leads.

Product Knowledge

  • Stay current on products, pricing, new introductions, and industry trends by reading trade publications and attending shows.

Sales Meetings

  • Attend weekly sales meetings (mandatory except for vacation or illness).

Dress Code

  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.


Hours

  • Work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including sales calls, client prospecting, and project monitoring.
  • Flexibility is required for evening and weekend calls.
  • Notify the Sales Manager if unavailable due to illness, family matters, or vacation.
